Prof. Yuriy Pershin joined the Scientific Advisory Board
Prof. Pershin from the University of South Carolina, USA joined the Scientific Advisory Board of the PLASMA-SPIN Energy project.
Dr. Yuriy V. Pershin is an expert in condensed matter physics, with interests in emerging memory devices (such as memristors), unconventional computing, and novel materials. In the past, he also contributed to the field of spintronics. Originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, he received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Konstanz in 2002, before moving to Clarkson University as a postdoctoral fellow to work on spintronics. Prior to joining the University of South Carolina in 2008, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Michigan State University and UCSD, conducting research in theoretical condensed matter physics. Prof. Pershin has published about 150 research papers, contributed to several books, and has been awarded one U.S. patent. Currently, he serves as an action editor in Neural Networks (Elsevier). Pershin is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (FInstP) and senior member of IEEE.
